A brain pathway linking cannabis use and psychosis is at the center of a new study

Amid continued conversations about legalizing cannabis in Pennsylvania comes new research suggesting a potential brain pathway involved in cannabis use disorder and psychosis.

It's one of the first studies to suggest a specific brain pathway for cannabis use disorder, or problematic use of cannabis that impairs daily life, which has been increasing in the past couple of decades as the drug becomes more widely available and the concentration of tetrahydocannabidiol (THC), the plant's psychoactive component, increases.
