With this past winter leaving Flagstaff and its surrounding areas well below the average snowfall for the first time in the past few years, Coconino County officials, the National Weather Service and Arizona Public Service are approaching the summer months with caution. Many of northern Arizona's snowpack locations measured near record lows in February and March, with continued dry conditions putting the region at risk for a significant wildfire season.
