Theatrikos

A THEATRICAL THRILL

In “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion Dr. Watson must begin a hilarious and hair-raising investigation. The mysterious death of Sir Charles Baskerville, allegedly caused by a terrifying ghost hound, requires the pair to encounter dozens of characters to gather clues. The twist is these 40 characters are all played by just five talented actors, who are taking the stage at Theatrikos this month in the theatre company's first show in the new year. The play, written by Ken Ludwig, is an adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles, a 1902 novel. Ludwig’s version is notable for its lighthearted tone and fast-paced humor. It’s a much more playful take on the classic story, mixed with witty dialogue and suspenseful drama, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats. Speedy costume changes and constant character swapping throughout the performance bring a curiosity that’s less about solving the mystery and more about how many actors it takes to portray the entire British countryside. Experience the whodunit comedy in the beloved Theatrikos Theatre starting January 17 and running until February 2, with showtimes Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 928-774-1662 or visiting

Flag Shakes

HERE FOR SHAKESPEARE

Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival is presenting its first official event at the new Beaver Street Theatre. The former banquet hall at Beaver Street Brewery is the new home for FlagShakes and Interference Series, providing a much-needed space for these artistic institutions. The Shakespeare group’s first production of 2025 will be “Coriolanus a tragedy based on the life of the Roman leader Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus. The play is a production of Ronin Theatre Company, who recently wrapped their performances in Phoenix and will now present the show in Flagstaff. This staging promises to bring a fresh, dynamic take on Shakespeare’s classic exploration of pride, politics and power. Any work of Shakespeare wouldn’t feel complete without a bit of catastrophe, and Coriolanus provides plenty as the story makes its way through themes of betrayal, death and manipulation. So, if you enjoy epic drama, high-stakes political intrigue and a lot of people making very poor life choices (minus the Roman toga), this is the show for you. Catch the exciting tale for two days only on January 25 at 7 p.m. and January 26 at 2 p.m. There are limited tickets available so be sure to snag some if you can! Learn more at
