We couldn’t pass up the chance to put our OWN event in this month’s Hot Picks, right?! We are putting on Flag Live’s 30th Anniversary Makers� Market to celebrate three decades of this publication. There will be tons of vendors attending to share their creations with you; including vintage and handmade clothing, fresh baked goods and candy, candles and bath products and so much more! There will also be a couple of food trucks to try, and we are working with Legacy Beverage to provide beer and drinks to sell. 25 percent of our beverage sales will be donated to High Country Humane, who we chose as our non-profit partner for this event. And you already know they will be bringing some cute pups along with them (weather permitting) to steal everyone’s hearts! Have we convinced you yet? SLOPES AT THE CINEMA
What better way to kick off the ski and snowboard season than by watching Warren Miller’s “75” film? With decades (7 ½ to be exact) of ski and snowboard filmmaking experience, Warren Miller Entertainment had to go big for their 75th year anniversary. The film will take viewers on an immersive journey through the best mountains around the world, through powder stashes and chutes that are bucket list worthy for any skier or boarder. There’s also an epic lineup of snowsports legends, olympians, world champions and emerging talent; including snowboarders Shaun White, Jeremy Jones, Danny Davis, and Toby Miller, plus skiers Max Hitzig, Lexi duPont, Caite Zeliff, Mark Abma, and Aaron Blunck. “75” is going to be stacked with incredible action, sharing stories of mentorship, sorcerers and innovators in the world of snowsports that are sure to inspire and amaze viewers. CATCH UP WITH THE COSMOS
The Lowell Observatory is an amazing place to learn about and view the night sky, and their latest addition of the Astronomy Discovery Center is taking things to a whole new level. The grand opening for this incredible facility is on November 16, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Make sure you come curious and ready to be awed, there are exhibits that will keep you busy all day; including the Orbits Curiosity Zone children’s exhibit hall, the Stardust Lab Astronomy Gallery for all ages, the rooftop Dark Sky Planetarium, the Giovale Open Deck Observatory with 6 advanced state-of-the-art telescopes, the Pluto Discovery Dome and the famous Clark Telescope. The never-ending universe comes with never-ending learning possibilities! COME TO THE CABARET, OLD CHUM
Indulge in a night filled with drama and intrigue with “Cabaret� the musical. Set in 1930s Berlin, Germany, the story centers around a vivacious night club called The Kit Kat Club. Follow the city experiences of Cliff Bradshaw, an American writer, who finds himself wrapped up in a romance amidst the ominous rise of the Nazis. Sally Bowles, his love interest, is a hostess at the Kit Kat Club and faces troubles throughout the story, alongside Cliff. There’s a plethora of tumultuous events mixed with iconic musical numbers sprinkled throughout. It’s an on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of play; you’ll cry, laugh, get mad, want to leave and be so glad you went. The musical will run November 8�16, with matinee or evening showtime options.
