Public libraries and recreational facilities in Flagstaff will close early on March 13 ahead of an imminent snowstorm.

The Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library downtown and the East Flagstaff Community Library on Fourth Street will both close at 6 p.m. instead of their usual 8 p.m.

The Aquaplex, the Hal Jensen Recreation Center and the Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center will also close at 6 p.m., one to two hours earlier than normal for those facilities. The Jay Lively Activity Center and Ice Arena will remain open until 8 p.m.

Significant new snowfall and high winds are expected from Thursday afternoon onward. The city will be deploying snow removal equipment and operators, with highest priority for plowing and cindering given to main arterial roads, major hills, the downtown area and bus routes.
