Coconino County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Commission in Districts 2, 4 and 5.

The Parks and Recreation Commission serves as a citizen advisory body, providing valuable input on the development and operation of county parks, trails, recreation programs and events. Commissioners play a key role in shaping recreation experiences that reflect the needs and interests of Coconino County residents.

Residents interested in serving must live in the district they represent. For District 2, that includes portions of Flagstaff, such as the Southside, Sunnyside and Greenlaw neighborhoods. District 4 covers communities including Moenkopi, Coalmine, Tonalea, Inscription House, Tolani Lake, Leupp, Doney Park and Winona. District 5 includes Page, Fredonia, Tuba City, Coppermine, Kaibeto, Cameron and Timberline/Fernwood.

The commission meets monthly and works closely with Parks and Recreation staff to provide recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. Individuals with backgrounds in conservation, event planning, park management, tourism or public service are especially encouraged to apply. To apply or learn more, visit .
