Coconino Community College (CCC) was named one of the year’s most promising places to work in its field by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

The May 1 issue of Diverse listed CCC among the 2025 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges. A total of 16 institutions were on this year’s list, with six honorable mentions.

The list was developed with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development and recognizes colleges throughout the U.S. “that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to inclusive workplace practices, staff and student success, professional development and community engagement, according to CCC’s announcement.

The college submitted its application in late fall. Schools were selected based on 34 evaluation criteria, including pay practices, demographics and professional development opportunities.

“Being named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges validates the intentional work we’ve done to build a supportive and empowering environment for our employees, said Adriana Flores-Church, vice president of human resources at CCC. “This honor belongs to everyone at the college. Their daily efforts, commitment to excellence and belief in our mission are what earned us this national spotlight.
