The Knitting Hour May 23 — Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library, 300 W. Aspen Ave., Flagstaff. 928-213-2331. 1-3 p.m., Want to learn to knit? Need help with a knitting project? Members of the Fiber Artists of Northern Arizona Guild (FANA) will be available in the Downtown Library's northwest corner to teach beginners how to knit and help knitters who are stuck on a project. Elden Pueblo Site Ambassador Day May 24 — Elden Pueblo Archaeological Site, U.S. 89, Flagstaff. 928-699-5421. 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Drop by Flagstaff’s first neighborhood at Elden Pueblo. This is a drop-in, weekend open-house during the summer. Elden Pueblo is a prehistoric Sinagua Heritage Site on the Coconino National Forest on Highway 89 at Townsend-Winona Road. It was an important center for trade and the type-site for the Elden Phase of Southwestern Prehistory. Learn about the ancient people living in Flagstaff's first neighborhood. Take a tour of the pueblo, view displays of ancient uses of tools,basketry, plants, jewelry and more. Try your hand at throwing an atl-atl or rabbit stick, primitive hunting technologies. Bring hat, sunscreen, water and your sense of adventure!. .
