Gallery: Storm leaves Flagstaff blanketed in wet, heavy snow
Flagstaff received its first notable snowstorm of 2025 Thursday into Friday.
A Valentine to Pedestrians

Ronald Pino shovels wet, heavy snow from a sidewalk on Beaver Street just after dawn Friday morning to make it more passable for pedestrians. Flagstaff’s first notable snowstorm of the year dropped a mixture of dense snow and rain overnight. Inclement weather is predicted to continue throughout Valentine's Day with up to 8 total inches of snow possible. For more photos of the weather, see Page A10.

A Little Help From a Friend

Rebecca Yerian, dining maintenance manager at Northern Arizona University, gives a Starship food delivery robot a nudge Friday morning to help it get out of a patch of snow on the pedway behind the student union. Two inches of wet, heavy snow on the ground was enough to severely hamper the delivery robots trying to take food to students across campus.
