The City of Flagstaff will hold a meet-and-greet event with candidates for the position of Human Resources and Risk Management Director on Wednesday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at City Hall. Members of the public are invited to attend, and to provide feedback about the candidates afterward.
According to a press release, the city received 59 applications for the position and conducted 10 screening interviews. The remaining four candidates are Dustin Green, Bret Painter, Ryan Saxby and Melissa Yergensen.
Green currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Pima County Human Resources Department. Green has more than 25 years of experience in human resources in the public, private and higher education sectors. He holds a master’s degree in professional studies and a bachelor’s degree in human resources.
Painter has a decade of human resource experience working in the federal government for the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and in the private sector. Painter also has 20 years of military service. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education and development and a master’s in management and human resources.
Saxby has worked for the City of Tucson for nine years in progressively responsible human resource leadership roles, including assistant director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science and a master’s degree in public administration.
Yergensen currently works in the private sector as a Human Resources Manager and previously worked for Duchesne County, Utah, as a Human Resources Director. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in human resource management.
