Highway 89 on the east side of Flagstaff will once again be restricted to one lane in each direction from Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30, the city announced.
The lane closures will occur between the intersections of Cummings Street and Snowflake Drive from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day to facilitate concrete work next to the roadway.
Last week, Highway 89 was similarly restricted for two days to permit crack sealing within the travel lanes.
Both maintenance projects are part of the city’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety program.
Other projects under that program are ongoing in the Crestview and Presidio neighborhoods, and along Country Club Drive and Huntington Drive. The annual program is funded by Proposition 406, approved in 2014, which provided a 20-year sales tax increase to support roadway improvements.
