The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the 2024-25 NABC Division I All-District Teams, highlighted by Northern Arizona's Trent McLaughlin earning a spot on the second team.
The honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across D-I.
McLaughlin is leading the Lumberjacks into their first postseason tournament outside the conference tournament since 2015, after playing to first in the Big Sky in points per game at 22.3 and second overall in D-I basketball.
McLaughlin has shot 42.6% from the field in the Lumberjacks' 33 games, hitting 35.2% from 3-point range on 99 made three-pointers. He racked up 113 assists, and 57 steals this season while averaging 3.5 boards per game and 36.5 minutes on the floor.
McLaughlin was one of four Big Sky selections named to a team, alongside Idaho State's Dylan Darling and Northern Colorado's Langston Reynolds and Isaiah Hawthorne.
Men’s tennis
Northern Arizona routed Pratt Community College twice on Monday, 6-1 in the first match and 4-0 in the second.Â
The two wins moved the Lumberjacks' record to 11-6.
In the first match, the Lumberjacks started hot by winning the doubles point. The No. 1 duo of Dani Torres and Piotr Galus and the No. 2 doubles team of Jakub Volesky and Mati Lange won, 6-4. On court three, Takumi Katsuda and Ivan Perisic won, 7-5.
After winning the doubles point, Galus built upon the Lumberjacks' 1-0 lead, going 6-0, 6-1 in his singles sets.
Lange earned the second win for the Lumberjacks, beating his opponent in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Volesky followed suit to clinch the match for Northern Arizona after a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Northern Arizona closed out the first match by winning two more singles matches. Kai Mills pulled away with a 7-5, 6-1 win in his first victory as a Lumberjack. The final singles win of the match came from Katsuda, who won it in a third-set tiebreak, 5-7, 6-0, 10-4.
The only win for Pratt Community College was on court six, where Perisic fell to Thiofhi Tshivhase in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
In the second match of the day, Northern Arizona again won the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles team of Galus and Torres grabbed a quick 6-1 win, while the No. 3 duo of Semen Agynskyy and Katsuda secured a 6-0 victory.
In the singles portion of the second match, Volesky grabbed the first singles point for Northern Arizona, pushing the lead to 2-0. With the two wins against Pratt Community College, he moved his singles record to 8-3.
Katsuda earned his second singles win of the day at the No. 4 position in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Katsuda's singles record is now 9-3.
Persic rounded out the day by clinching the second victory for Northern Arizona, 6-2, 6-3.
The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play at New Mexico on Friday.
