Arizona lawmakers mulling compensation for exonerated individuals

PHOENIX -- Drayton Witt was stabbed 73 times and nearly killed while imprisoned by the state in Winslow.

Now state lawmakers are deciding whether he and others exonerated should be entitled to compensation. A proposal tucked into the state budget would entitle Witt to seek financial relief equal to twice the median income for each of the 12 years he was locked up.
