Scheffler gets morning start for title defense

Scottie Scheffler will launch his Masters title defense on Thursday alongside Justin Thomas and amateur Jose Luis Ballester, while Rory McIlroy, looking to complete the career Grand Slam, will begin in one of the final groups.

World No. 1 Scheffler, bidding to become only the fourth player to repeat as Masters champion, will start in the 14th group at 10:15 a.m. ET, one group behind three-time champion Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and Keegan Bradley.
