Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles is not getting ahead of herself in her return from a two-year break. Biles dominated at the U.S. Classic, winning by a full five points in her first competition since the Tokyo Olympics. The 26-year-old says her focus is trying to enjoy the moments as they come and not get ahead of herself. Biles added she's in a good place both mentally and physically but stressed she isn't ready to talk about the 2024 Paris Games. Up next for Biles is the U.S. Championships in San Jose in late August.

American cyclist Chloe Dygert romped to the individual pursuit world title on Thursday in Glasgow, Scotland. The 26-year-old from Indiana was so far ahead of defending champion Franziska Brausse in the finals that she passed the German on the final lap of the race. Dygert has overcome a career-threatening injury and several other issues the past few years to return to the top of the sport. In other events, Germany won the women's team sprint with a world-record time with Britain second and China third, and William Tidball of Britain won the men's scratch race with Kazushige Kuboki of Japan second and Belgium's Tuur Dens third.

Simone Biles' return to compeitive gymnastics has renewed the conversation around "the twisties" that forced her to take herself out of multiple events at the 2020 Olympics. It happens when a gymnast suddenly loses their air awareness while trying to complete twisting elements in their routines. Biles says "the twisties" are behind her going into an event this weekend. Not every gymnast makes it back. Gage Dyer was attempting to make the U.S.'s 2021 world championship team when "the twisties" appeared out of nowhere. Within six months, Dyer, a two-time NCAA champion at Oklahoma, had retired.
