The 2025 football schedules for the Coconino Panthers and the Flagstaff Eagles were posted onto AZPreps365 this week, with the rivalry games between the schools both scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30.

Flagstaff will host Coconino in flag football at 3:30 p.m. to begin a two-game rivalry day, with the Eagles then hosting the Panthers in tackle football at Northern Arizona University's Walkup Skydome at 7 p.m. later that night.

NAU's football game against Idaho, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, was recently shifted to Friday, Oct. 31 due to its selection to be broadcast on ESPN2, leaving the Walkup Skydome occupied on Friday night.

Tackle football

The Grand Canyon Region expanded back to seven schools for the 2025-26 season. The AIA reclassification committee moved Mohave High School back to the 4A Conference after it spent the past four seasons in 3A.

The Eagles will play their six region games across the final six weeks of the regular season, hosting Lee Williams (Sept. 26), Mohave (Oct. 10) and Mingus Union (Oct. 24) during region play in addition to its home game against Coconino. Flagstaff travels to Bradshaw Mountain (Oct. 3) and Prescott (Oct. 17) in region play after opening the season at Marcos de Niza (Aug. 29), at Paradise Honors (Sept. 5), home against Tempe (Sept. 12) and at Paradise Honors (Sept. 19).

Meanwhile, Coconino is scheduled to host Mohave (Sept. 19), Prescott (Oct. 10) and Bradshaw Mountain (Oct. 24) while traveling to Mingus Union (Oct. 3) and Lee Williams (Oct. 17) in addition to facing Flagstaff in the Skydome. The Panthers will host Snowflake (Aug. 29) and St. Mary's (Sept. 5) to open the season before traveling to Washington (Sept. 11). After beginning Grand Canyon Region play in Week 4, Coconino wraps up its freedom games with a trip to Sunrise Mountain (Sept. 26).

Flag football

After playing one season in the 4A Conference Mountain Sky Region with Bradshaw Mountain, Prescott, Mingus Union and Mayer, Coconino and Flagstaff's flag football teams will shift to a newly designed Grand Canyon Region.

With the addition of 3A Conference flag football, Lee Williams and Mohave departed the Colorado River Region and joined five schools from the Mountain Sky to form the traditional Grand Canyon Region. The flag football region schedules now mirror that of tackle football, with Flagstaff hosting Lee Williams (Oct. 14), Mohave (Oct. 21) and Mingus Union (Oct. 28), in addition to Coconino, while traveling to Bradshaw Mountain (Oct. 16) and Prescott (Oct. 22). The six-game region schedule accounts for half of the flag football schedule, with Flagstaff completing its six freedom games in the first half of its season. The Eagles are scheduled to open their season on Sept. 16 at home against Westview.

Coconino's six region games come in its final seven games of the season, hosting Mohave (Oct. 9), Prescott (Oct. 20) and Bradshaw Mountain (Oct. 28) with road games against Mingus Union (Oct. 16) and Lee Williams (Oct. 23) in addition to its rivalry game against Flagstaff. Coconino hosts three freedom games, with its first home game on Sept. 25 against Arcadia coming after two road games to start the season at Tuba City (Sept. 16) and Peoria (Sept. 18).
