Make some noise: Interference Series kicks off its 10th season with the Southwest Collaborative Music Convergence at CCA

The Southwest Collaborative Music Convergence will take place from August 30 through September 1 at the Coconino Center of the Arts. Tickets are on sale now through the CCA website with prices starting at $36.

Art can convey a lot of different ideas and emotions from the artist. Sometimes art is a personal story told through a chosen medium. Sometimes it’s meant to be political and move someone to their cause. And sometimes art is created as a form of protest highlighting what an artist believes to be morally or ethically wrong with society. Regardless of what drives an artist to create, art is not created in a vacuum. It’s meant to connect the artist and the audience. It’s meant to be shared. And sometimes creating art connects artists with one another.

“The idea for the Southwest Collaborative Music Convergence is coming together to create music,� said Thollem McDonas, a co-organizer for the event. “Everyone’s coming with what they do artistically, but then expand on what they do through collaboration. So, they challenge each other in certain ways but also support each other in another way to create something really unique.�
