The Coconino County Board of Supervisors is proposing tax increases on primary and secondary tax rates for the coming fiscal year.
Arizona law allows for counties to increase their primary property taxes by up to 2% each year, with Coconino County’s increase equating to $0.95 per year per $100,000 of assessed value. The proposed increase will shift Coconino County’s primary property tax to $48.30 per $100,000 of assessed value from the current rate of $47.35.
Coconino County’s voter-approved special districts also levy secondary property taxes in order to provide specific services to county residents.
For the Public Health Service District, a proposed increase of 4.43% would shift the taxes owed of $23.94 per $100,000 of assessed value to $25.00 for an additional $254,422. The Flood Control District’s tax rate is proposed to increase by 5.09% for a total of $50.00 per $100,000 of assessed value from the current total of $47.58.
