New grant supports efforts to connect veterans with vital services

Nation's Finest Van

The Flagstaff-based Mobile Services Unit of veterans' assistance organization Nation's Finest parks at the Canyon de Chelly National Monument. A new grant from Verizon will provide technology upgrades in support of the organization's work on the road.

If you’ve ever seen a large van with a portrait of a saluting soldier driving around Flagstaff, then you’ve glimpsed the Mobile Services Unit (MSU) of Nation’s Finest, a veterans assistance organization with branches across Arizona, Nevada and California.

For the past two and a half years, the Flagstaff office of Nation’s Finest has used the MSU to reach veterans in rural or remote areas across northern Arizona, delivering food or vital supplies while also helping those veterans access healthcare, find housing or secure a job.
