Flagstaff’s Schultz Creek Drainage Improvements Project received multiple awards last month from professional associations and the state, the city announced on Monday, June 23.

The project, which included the installation of a new box culvert underneath Highway 180 near Flagstaff Fire Department Station No. 5 along with upstream and downstream flood mitigation work, was completed in October 2024. Phoenix-based Banicki Construction was the city’s contractor for the culvert installation.
