Malfunctioning railroad crossing signals prompted a multiday closure of the intersection of Ponderosa Parkway and Route 66 this week, beginning Saturday, June 21, and still in effect at this time.
The same crossing was causing problems the previous week, too, with reports on Monday, June 16, that traffic at the intersection was snarled. The barrier arms and warning lights were activating when no train was present, leaving cars stuck waiting to cross.
