Letter to the Editor: Republicans in Congress called out for following Trump over Constitution

Letters

On April 19, 1775, our forefathers were fed up with a tyrant, George III, and "fired the shot heard 'round the world." In doing so, they were risking "their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor." As Benjamín Franklin put it, "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." In separating themselves from a tyrant -- and against the most formidable military of its time -- they bet their lives in defense of freedom from tyranny.

America once again, 250 years later, faces a tyrant, Donald Trump, bent on utter domination of every aspect of our lives, fortunes and sacred honor. He is running roughshod over our Constitution, our legal system and even over the majority of Republicans in Congress who are supposed to represent us.
