Letter to the Editor: University Heights/Highlands resident says enforce trash rules fairly

On April 15, 2025, a resident in the University Heights/Highlands neighborhood posted on the Nextdoor app that they had received a code violation for putting their bulky trash at the curb too far in advance of the next service date. I just walked in the neighborhood and saw at least a half dozen homes in violation. If the city and council are going to make rules and code, then the city and council have to enforce the code to all violators. Not enforcing the code and rules equitability might expose the city and council to legal action that it cannot afford. I expect to see code enforcement out in the University Heights/ Highlands neighborhood soon, making sure that all properties not in compliance are treated with a citation.
