Local athletes win two gold medals and seven silvers at track and field championships

Traveling down to the Valley over the weekend, athletes from BASIS Flagstaff, Coconino High School, Flagstaff High School and Northland Prep Academy competed on Friday and Saturday in the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Division III and V track and field championships.

As a team, the D-III Flagstaff girls produced the highest finish with a third-place result, while the Flagstaff boys team landed in fourth, just a half-point behind third-place Salpointe Catholic. The BASIS Flagstaff girls team concluded the D-V meet in ninth place, while the Northland Prep boys team tied for 14th in that division.
