With Dan Slayton retiring from his position as an appointed Coconino County Superior Court judge and transitioning to a senior commissioner, his role of presiding judge became vacant to begin the new year.
After more than a decade as a judge with the Coconino County Superior Court, initially as a pro tem judge in Division 6 and now as an appointed judge for Division 1, Ted Reed took over the post. With Reed following a similar path to Slayton en route to his position as an appointed judge -- as well as working alongside him in the role of associate presiding judge -- it offered the perfect opportunity to step in to begin 2024.
