The City of Flagstaff is seeking artists for a new public art installation at the Spruce Wash Wedge, located on the corner of E. Cedar Avenue and N. West Street. The city’s goal is to create a “landmark three-dimensional artwork and a “distinctive icon, a press release stated.
“This is an exciting opportunity for an artist or artist team to design a striking sculpture for Flagstaff’s east side, said Jana Weldon, the city's Beautification, Arts and Sciences program manager. “The artist will join a design team with a supporting landscape architect to dynamically incorporate a three-dimensional artwork at Spruce Wash Wedge, add visual interest to the urban environment and contribute to the city’s ongoing commitment to community-centered public art.
