Letter to the Editor: Wife praises husband who made May Hicks Curtis Home preservation happen

Letters

I would like to commend my husband, Mark Reavis -- former City of Flagstaff Heritage Preservation officer and senior planner (2020-2024) -- for being the driving force behind saving the May Hicks Curtis Home that was recently named to National Trust for Historic Preservation's 11 most Endangered National Buildings. I am truly proud of him.

Preservation is definitely on the back burner in Flagstaff, and saving this historic home required him to reach out and get various state entities involved, most specifically Adrian Fontes, the secretary of state, whom he befriended at the State Historic Preservation Conference in 2023.
