Second defendant pleads guilty to charge in connection with disappearance near Sunset Crater

Concluding months of discussions and negotiations on five separate cases, Scott Richard Smith agreed to plead guilty to a pair of felony charges last week in Coconino County Superior Court.

While a charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed as a part of Smith’s July 10 plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to one count of abandonment or concealment of a dead body.
