CPR Practice

Deputies with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office practice chest compressions during emergency medical response training on Feb. 1, while an instructor monitors the depth and rate of those compressions.

Deputies with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) sharpened their emergency medical response skills in a daylong training on Feb. 1, practicing CPR, the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), bleeding control, treating drug overdoses and other life-saving techniques that an officer on patrol might need.

The training is part of an ongoing partnership between CCSO, Griffith Blue Heart -- a nonprofit specifically dedicated to improving law enforcement officers responses to time-sensitive medical emergencies -- the Health First Foundation of Northern Arizona and Guardian Medical Transport.
